Leigh Herington
Leigh E. Herington is a founding partner of Reitz, Paul & Shorr and served for eight years in the Ohio Senate. He began his 40-year legal career in 1976 and shortly thereafter tried his first case in Common Pleas Court .
Herington's success in the case representing a school child against a school board resulted in his representing over twenty school districts in his legal career. Over the years, former Senator Herington's practice has been dedicated to issues involving children and education, the elderly and public sector law.
Mr. Herington has a BBA and an MBA from Kent State University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron. During his legal career, Leigh has provided advice to hundreds of managers of political subdivisions regarding personnel and management of hundreds of millions of taxpayers' dollars. He had a solid independent record in the Ohio Senate and served as the Minority Leader during his tenure from 1995-2003. He has also been a leader in the community, having served as President of the Portage County United Way , Vice President of the Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation and Campaign Chair of the Cancer Society.
